Description

This is a clematis flower about to bloom. I had a hard time deciding if I should post the coloured version but decided to go for the mood of B&W. I hope you like it and thanks for viewing/commenting/voting :)

Lovely shot, Maridol! Very crisp and the subject very interesting. Have to agree with everyone else, B&W was the best option here! (Starting to get hungry now, wonder if I should wake you for dinner? *chuckle*)

Gonna say this real quiet so no-one shouts at me i like the colour one.
Actually I'll qualify that a bit - i love the colours in the main plant - mostly because there's only a hint of colour in it and i really like that subtle effect. However, you are right going for a B/w 'cos the colour background is distracting whereas in B/w it becomes abstract swirls of tone.
Lovely use of contrast on the main flower - really nice work.

You have a good eye for capturing some very unique & interesting specimen of nature.

Good composition and detail. I actually can't decide which I like more, both this bw and color version appeal to me.

I like the B&W version because my eyes are not distracted by the colors, so I fully enjoy the shape and detail of the drama unfolding. I already know the colors of this flower, so I can let my imagination apply the colors after I enjoy what I see without color. I also like the blurred background in B&W, done just right to draw my eye totally to the flower. Excellent photography Maridol.

Black and white seems much better.
I can totally focus on the silvery strands -- beautiful shot!

Very interesting flower, not sure I've ever seen one before. I enjoy the B&W as well, kinda makes the image a tad more surreal. Very nice.
